Our Travel Ethics & Code of Conduct

Sierra Tours, a brand of Sierra Group S.A.C. (RUC 20608875442), believes that travel should create positive, meaningful, and responsible experiences. As a tour operator, we are committed to conducting our business ethically, with respect for travelers, local communities, partners, cultural heritage, and the natural environment.

This Code of Conduct outlines the ethical principles and professional standards that govern all Sierra Tours operations. It applies to our employees, management, contractors, guides, suppliers, and partners. By working with Sierra Tours, all parties agree to uphold these principles and comply with applicable local and international laws.

1. Ethical Business Practices

2. Respect for Human Rights & Child Protection
  • Zero tolerance for exploitation, abuse, discrimination, or harassment.
  • Strict rejection of the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (ESNNA).
  • Rejection of human trafficking, forced labor, or abusive practices.
  • Immediate reporting of suspected violations to appropriate authorities.
3. Responsible & Sustainable Tourism
  • Respect local cultures, traditions, and heritage.
  • Encourage responsible traveler behavior and cultural sensitivity.
  • Support local economies through trusted local partners.
  • Promote environmentally responsible and sustainable tourism practices.
4. Traveler Safety & Wellbeing
  • Prioritize traveler safety in all destinations and activities.
  • Work with experienced guides and licensed service providers.
  • Provide clear pre-trip information and emergency procedures.
  • Adapt itineraries when safety, weather, or operational conditions require it.
5. Data Protection & Privacy
  • Protect personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
  • Handle personal information securely and confidentially.
  • Be transparent about how personal data is collected and used.

By operating under this Code of Conduct, Sierra Tours reaffirms its commitment to ethical travel, responsible tourism, and international best practices. Meaningful travel should create a positive and lasting impact for travelers, communities, and destinations.


Essna’s Code of Conduct

Sierra Tours firmly rejects all forms of Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (ESNNA), both in Peru and worldwide, particularly when associated with travel and tourism activities. This commitment is aligned with Peruvian Law Nº 28251 and the policies promoted by MINCETUR.

By adhering to the ESNNA Code of Conduct, Sierra Tours promotes ethical, responsible, and sustainable tourism while protecting the fundamental rights of children and adolescents.

  • Maintain a strict ethical policy rejecting any form of sexual exploitation.
  • Train and inform staff on prevention and reporting measures.
  • Communicate a clear zero-tolerance message to clients and partners.
  • Include contractual clauses with suppliers rejecting sexual exploitation in tourism.
