The Historic Center of Trujillo
La Plaza Mayor de Trujillo is an architectural space of great beauty and monumentality. It is the heart of the city, where all roads converge. The square is mainly characterized by architecture from the 15th and 16th centuries and is surrounded by buildings of significant tourist interest. At the center of the square stands the bronze statue of Francisco Pizarro, the conqueror of Peru.Trujillo was populated after its reconquest by distinguished figures, most of whom came from the northern part of the Iberian Peninsula.
