Huaca del Sol is a large adobe pyramid built by the ancient Moche civilization around the 1st century AD. Located near Trujillo, it was an important political and administrative center of the Moche culture. The structure is one of the largest adobe monuments in Peru and forms part of the famous Huacas del Sol y de la Luna archaeological complex.
